A day well spent with my good friend @killeaghhuntingtrips was a day I will never forget. I've hunted every deer species in Ireland and the UK and always overlooked true wild Irish goats f An invite down to expierence hunting them and away I went. I have to say it was the most enjoyable/ testing stalk and shot l've ever taken they are by no means an easy animal to get close to on open hills and mountains. Not an easy step taken climbing the mountain in absolutely stunning scenery and landscape.
David caters for all your hunting trips and experiences at @killeaghhuntingtrips. We secured the goat and headed for deer ground where l've honestly never seen so many animals. Fantastic day out fantastic experience with a top class guide that will push to the limits to get you your animal

In August of 2024, my son and I were fortunate enough to book an outing with David Kennedy of Killeagh Hunting out of Limerick, Ireland. From the moment I started corresponding with David, his passion, hunting ethics, knowledge of the ground and game, and positivity came through. His communications could not have been more clear and he kept me updated as the date of our hunt got closer and closer. On the day of the hunt, David was fully outfitted and ready to go as soon as I pulled into our meeting spot. From there, we spent 30 minutes in his vehicle both catching up and learning more about the ground we would be hunting. David has rights to hunt some of the most picturesque hills, valleys, and fields that I saw in my whole stay in Ireland. We were after feral goats—these are not to be confused with the “Old Irish Goat,” but rather goats that have gone feral since the Potato famine and now cause a negative impact on the native flora and fauna. We spotted game from the valley below and David put together a strong plan of approach and after a vigorous hour long hike up the mountain we were in position. Always emphasizing safety and ethics, David kept us in a great position on multiple animals. There were multiple times when a less ethical or safety conscious guide would have suggested a shot, but he always ensured we were in a safe position for an ethical shot. After further hiking and maneuvering, including through some thick bracken, we had an ideal setup and connected on a goat. David’s professionalism and positivity were once again on full display as we made quick work of recovering, cleaning, and honoring the animal we had just taken. With a second group of goats still within a hike, we once again gained altitude and after another 40 minutes, we get into position for a second goat. My son, who David assisted getting into position, was able to connect with his own goat. I can’t emphasize enough how David’s calm, positive, and knowledgeable demeanor made for such an enjoyable outing on the hill. It was dark by the time we got back to David’s vehicle with our goats and as we made the 30 minute drive back to my car, we relieved all the great moments from our hours on the hill. David instantly made us feel like family and that continued in the weeks following our hunt where we continued to communicate and swap pictures. David has a passion for family, friends, and hunting. If you find yourself with the opportunity to go for a stalk in Ireland, I highly recommend reaching out David. Two thumbs up for a great guide, great ground, now a great friend, and an all around great experience.
